I just did a quick comparison on buying a Vodafone iPhone 4s 16gb in the uk /aust /nz full details on image above
bottom line cost of ownership in USD UK = $1488 Aust = $1312 (lot less talk time than UK ) NZ =  $2059 Less txts less talk

Phone price in each country USD
UK=$766
Aust= $774
NZD= $799

So there you go apple charge basically the same for the same phone no matter what out population But Vodafone charge Kiwis about , whats that  25% more ? interesting

Internet v's Me

I know I know i choose to live in New Zealand in the middle of nowhere, more than 4 kms from an exchange and my download speed varies between 1.2kb and 200kb. Trying to experience the internet is a painful exercise and really has to thought thru. lets take You tube video. Streaming is out of the question what I end up doing is either a setting the video i want to watch to download or b setting it going till t hangs then pausing and going to another doing the same thing ,until i am jumping between 3-4 videos i an trying to watch. Ok i know i have a choice i can move to wellington or Sydney where they have good Internet or i can just wait for it eventually to catch up. The lay question i want to ask and yes i know the answer but i want to ask anyway. Why do i pay $130 a week for crap internet and other elsewhere pay half that price for 100 times the quality and service??? There that s better the whingeing pom strikes again.
